For Effective Wasp Control

Why Waspbane?

  • Do you want to get rid of your wasp problem but can't find the nest?

  • Do you want a wasp trap that is safe, clean and easy to use that requires no maintenance?

  • The WaspBane wasp trap has a self-sealing self-contained disposable refill system which protects the user from any wasps that have been caught.

  • The WaspBane wasp trap has a unique safety system to protect the user.

  • Unlike most other wasp traps the WaspBane bait system lasts all season long so there is no need for cleaning, maintaining or rebaiting. This makes WaspBane cleaner and safer to use than other traps.

  • Unlike other traps (especially homemade traps) WaspBane does not make your wasp problem worse, it stops it. WaspBane effectively kills 100% of the wasps that it catches. If you do not kill 100% of the wasps you catch, the escaped wasps will return with reinforcements!

  • WaspBane, the wasp trap you set and forget!

Did you know 46,000 people in the UK have a potentially fatal allergy to wasp stings?? ..Are you doing enough to protect them??

Nuisance wasps have always been a problem especially around food and children. Used in major theme parks, Waspbane has helped reduce sting rates by as much as 97% when compared with other wasp traps. The secret is simple, Waspbane doesn't cause swarming. Probably the safest wasp trap in the world, Waspbane is pesticide and toxin free. With a unique bait system that lasts all season long, you can service more areas for lower cost bringing better returns. Waspbane is ideal for helping to protect outdoor catering and refreshment facilities especially where children are around.

The WaspBane wasp trap is a major breakthrough in controlling the summer wasp (yellowjacket) pest.

The WaspBane wasp trap is the result of more than 6 years of design and experimentation. The apparently simple design hides a host of features each exploiting particular aspects of wasp behaviour which makes WaspBane probably the most efficient wasp trap available on the market today. Given that wasps are a dangerous insect, the design of WaspBane has been built entirely around user safety so much so that WaspBane is also probably the safest wasp trap on the market to date.

Safety, Cleanliness and Ease of Use:

For a wasp trap to be safe, it must reduce user exposure to wasps. This includes exposure to free flying wasps as well as exposure to any wasps that may have been caught by the wasp trap. Whilst this may be stating the obvious, other traps seem to ignore this simple goal. WaspBane tackles safety and efficacy in a large number of different ways some of which remain secret for commercial reasons. Nevertheless, there are three important areas where WaspBane stands apart from its competitors:

Perhaps the most commonly observed problem with most wasp traps is that they require frequent emptying, cleaning and rebaiting. This is because as these traps catch wasps, the dead wasps start to decompose and smell. This repels more wasps from being caught and the traps stop working. In hot weather, many of these traps also dry out and stop working. To make matters worse, some of these traps have such small collecting chambers that they become full in a matter of days. The danger with such traps is that they then need to be emptied, cleaned and rebaited in order for them to work again and in many cases the user will be confronted with wasps that are still alive in the traps. Clearly this presents a major hazard to the user and often requires additional protective measures such as the use of harmful pesticides or boiling water to kill any remaining wasps.

WaspBane is reassuringly very different. The WaspBane wasp trap uses a unique bait system which stays fresh and works all season long. In addition, because Waspbane has a large collection chamber (3.4L capacity) it has space to catch many thousands of wasps without the need for rebaiting. All in all this means that once set, the Waspbane wasp trap does not need any further maintenance or cleaning as it will continue working throughout the whole of the season. Clearly this offers superior safety benefits because it significantly reduces user exposure to wasps therefore reducing the chance of being stung.

Disposable System:

Another problem with most other traps is that they nearly all require direct user exposure to their contents during emptying, cleaning and rebaiting. Clearly, this can be a major hazard to safety not to mention a smelly, dirty and unhygienic experience! The beauty about WaspBane is that it has a self sealing self contained disposable refill system. This makes WaspBane a breeze to use. There is little user exposure because the contents of the WaspBane wasp trap remain safely sealed and because the system is disposable the whole experience remains acceptably clean, safe and sanitary.

Efficacy:

Perhaps the most concerning aspect of some wasp traps however, is that they can actually make your wasp problem worse. In other words, there are wasp traps which increase risk to users because they encourage more wasps into the area which they are supposed to protect. To understand this it is important to understand wasp behaviour. Various scientific institutes have estimated that depending on terrain and available food, there can be as many as 1000 wasp nests per square mile, i.e. as many as 5,000,000 wasps per square mile! This means that wasps do not have to fly far, but they do need to work hard to find food. It is in the interest of the whole nesting wasp colony therefore that when a food source has been discovered, information about the food source is relayed to the nest. It is this social wasp behaviour which leads to swarming. In other words, when one wasp finds food today you can be sure that tomorrow it will turn into hundreds of wasps. This wasp behaviour is critical to wasp trap design. Any wasp trap that fails to kill 100% of the wasps that it catches will actually promote swarming. Alarmingly, many other wasp traps only kill between 50 to 70% of the wasps they catch! The wasps that escape are then encouraged to bring back more wasps into the area and before long the wasp trap itself is responsible for creating a problem that is worse than before the trap was set in the first place! Again this increases your risk of being stung!

One reason why it took 6 years to design WaspBane, is that the designers of WaspBane have understood from the outset that the problem of swarming had to be overcome. Happily, WaspBane kills effectively 100% of all of the wasps that it catches. This means that WaspBane does not promote swarming and therefore does not increase the risk of attracting more wasps into the areas which it is working to protect!

All in all, WaspBane is a superior wasp trap designed around user safety and ease and cleanliness of use.

Other Important Features:

The WaspBane wasp trap is selective for wasps. In normal use it does not attract honey bees and other beneficial insects. The bait system is pesticide and toxin free which means there is no risk of collateral damage to other insects and animals. The bait system does not use wasp sex pheromones and so avoids certain ecological problems (see WaspBane and the Environment). WaspBane is moulded in clear and neutral green plastic which means that it remains camouflaged when used in trees and is unobtrusive when in use. The assembled dimensions of the WaspBane wasp trap are: 50cm (19.5 inches) high by 15.5cm (6 inches) wide by 15.5cm deep. The weight of the assembled trap with bait is approximately 980g (2.16 lb).

The WaspBane wasp trap is a high performance partner in protection, effective for use in all environments, commercial, civic and domestic, where the wasp is a threat.
